Melbourne United Basketball Club

Melbourne United Basketball Club

Melbourne United is a professional men's basketball team in the Australian National Basketball League (NBL). Our purpose is to deliver opportunities for sustained success both on and off the court whilst providing the highest level of engagement and entertainment in all we do. Formed in 2014 after playing in the NBL as the Melbourne Tigers for 30 years, Melbourne United is the premier NBL team in Victoria. More than 1,500 businesses are engaged in our United in Business program, providing a networking platform for like minded Melbourne United affiliates and leading business identities, access to bespoke events and partnership and B2B opportunities. We have deep and valuable community roots, with more than 100,000 children having participated in a community program across Victoria this season; from Mornington Peninsula to Ballarat, Berwick, Hawthorn, Essendon and beyond. Since the start of last season, our school program GAMETIME by Kmart has taken the entire playing roster to see more than 10,000 kids in Melbourne. More than 100 basketball clubs and associations are partners of our Grassroots Membership, allowing us to support more than 2,000 junior teams. More Melbournians are part of the MU family than ever before, with membership, ticket revenue, crowd attendance and broadcast viewership all continuing to increase from strength to strength. During each NBL season, Melbourne United play up to 14 home games at John Cain Arena. The Club play in front of up to 10,500 fans at home games. In 2018 the Club won it's first Championship as United, and in 2021 they won their second.
